The eXascale Infolab (U. of Fribourg, Switzerland) is hiring! We are looking for a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science (or related areas), interested in designing and developing novel information infrastructures to manage Big Data. The focus of the present position is on designing algorithms and systems to bridge the gap between semi-structured data such as knowledge graphs and textual content. Candidates must have strong analytical and programming skills, a good command of the English language, and a genuine interest in designing, building and publishing innovative approaches and systems to manage new types of data in very large-scale environments. Salary and social benefits are extremely competitive (salaries start at 81K CHF for new postdocs). The eXascale Infolab is supported by a generous grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation and offers top-notch working conditions and cutting-edge hardware infrastructures. Our lab is hosted by the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Fribourg. The faculty is currently experiencing a formidable expansion and recently received several large donations both from private and public sponsors. Ideally situated in the heart of Switzerland and at the foot of the Alps, the city of Fribourg lies on the linguistic border between the French and German-speaking parts of the country. In addition to being recognized as a first-class location for business and education, Fribourg is also a delightful and exceptional place to live in and is often ranked first for quality of life in Western Switzerland (see e.g. http://bit.ly/14GUmXb ). If you are interested in this position or simply would like to get additional information, please visit our website: http://exascale.info/ or contact Prof. Philippe Cudre-Mauroux by email:jobs(at)exascale(dot)info.
