The Semantic Technology Institute Innsbruck, Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics at the University Innsbruck is currently seeking candidates for the following position: Assistant Professor (Career Position) – Post-doc (40 hours/week) starting at the earliest possible date for the duration of six years, with the possibility for a qualification agreement that may lead to a position as an associate professor. Main Tasks - Research in the field of semantic technologies and in related research areas - teaching in the bachelor program of computer science as well as in the relevant areas of the STI such as semantic web, semantic web services, applied ontology engineering, intelligent systems - supervision of students and master and bachelor theses - academic self-administration. Qualification Requirements - Doctoral degree in computer science/informatics - extensive research experience and interest in the area of semantic technologies and knowledge-based systems - relevant scientific publications in international, refereed journals and conferences - experience in applied research (e.g. in the areas of tourism and social media, smart homes and energy efficiency, mobile services) - experience in cooperation with industry - experience in teaching at university level - experience in supervision of bachelor- and master theses - track record of management of scientific research projects - track record of acquisition of third-party research funds - international mobility, experience and visibility - fluent English both oral and written - good ability to work in a team and good communication skills - willingness to work in an international team. Salary The basic salary is set down in the collective bargaining agreement for university employees. For this position the monthly salary is 3.483 Euro before tax per month (14 times).
