FW: Special issue - Ambient Assisted Living

[Apologies for cross-postings]

Dear colleagues and partners,

Let me have a pleasure to invite you, your research colleagues, and partners, to submit an article for a Special Issue on Ambient Assisted Living of Journal of Intelligent Systems:
http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/jisys

My colleagues, Markku Korhonen, Research Director at School of Engineering, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Finland, and Philippe Le Parc, Director of LacSticc & Computer Science department, University of Brest, France, serve as Guest Editors.

Please, find attached a Call for Paper document in PDF. An extraction from the Call is below:
Developed countries are facing a new challenge, the demographic change: the number of old and dependant people is rising and this societal evolution has to be taken into account. The aim of Ambient Assisted Living is to use Information and Communication Technologies to develop new products and services to offer a better life to old and dependant person. It generally requires some physical equipment connected using various networks and controlled by specific software. Besides these technological solutions, security, privacy, acceptance and so on, have also to be studied, to be sure that the proposed solutions will fit the requirement of the old and dependant person, but also the needs of the people who care of them (professional and family).
Given the interdisciplinary nature of the field, we welcome original contributions from computer science and information technology researchers as well as from scientists on social sciences.

Recommended topic areas include, but are not limited to:
  Sensors, specific equipment
  Robotics
Protocol and/or networks dedicated to AAL
  Universal or specific middleware
  Methodologies
  User interaction
  Simulation platforms
  Living labs
  Security, Privacy, Acceptance

Case studies are also welcome, if they cover several topics listed above.

Submission Guidelines:
Submitted papers must present original research, which is neither published anywhere else nor under any simultaneous consideration in any other place. A professional level of English is expected for all submissions. Previously published conference papers should be clearly identified by the authors, with a mention of the conference name and a reference to the original paper.. Papers that extend conference contributions must include at least 50% new material, and the authors should explain how such papers have been extended.

Submitted papers will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

Final decisions on accepted papers will be approved by the journal editors.

Manuscripts must be prepared for publication according to the journal’s Author Guidelines available at the following webpage: http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/jisys

Subject: Special issue - Ambient Assisted Living

Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to announce the call for papers for the second special issue. Professor Philippe Le Park from University of Brest, France and Professor Markku Korhonen from Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Finland are our Guest editors.
It would be nice of you if you could disseminate this call for papers among your associate researchers and colleagues. This call for papers will also be published on the journal's website. Right now we are facing some difficulties to publish the first call for papers. Allie Struzik is trying to fix this problem as soon as possible so both of the call of papers will be available on the journal site.

I would like to thank Professors Le Park and Korhonen for their efforts to take care of this event (for reference I attached the emails addresses at the end of this mail)

Best regards,

Dr. Hasan Fleyeh
