[Apologies for cross-posting] ******************************************** Call for Papers: PROFILES 2014, May 26 2014, Crete, Greece. ******************************************** The 1st International Workshop on Dataset PROFIling & fEderated Search for Linked Data (#PROFILES2014) ***************************** Venue: Anissaras, Crete, Greece. Date: May 26, 2014 Submission by: 6 March URL: www.keystone-cost.eu/profiles2014/ Co-located with 11th ESWC Conference, May 25 – 29, 2014. ***************************** The PROFILES 2014 workshop aims to gather innovative search approaches for large-scale, distributed and heterogeneous linked datasets inline with dedicated approaches to analyse, describe and discover endpoints, as an inherent task of query distribution. PROFILES 2014 will equally consider both novel scientific methods and techniques for querying, assessment, profiling, and curation of distributed datasets as well as the application perspective, such as the innovative use of tools and methods for providing structured knowledge about distributed datasets, their evolution and fundamentally, means to search and query the Web of Data. The workshop will provide a highly interactive forum for researchers in the fields of Semantic Web and Linked Data, Databases, Semantic Search, Text Mining, NLP as well as Information Retrieval. The main areas of interest of PROFILES 2014 include: * Dataset/endpoint analysis, profiling and discovery: * - query routing taking into account relevance and quality of distributed datasets - dataset profile representation (vocabularies, schemas) - novel applications and techniques for dataset profiling - automated approaches to dataset analysis and exploration - analysis/monitoring of dataset and graph dynamics - topic profiling of datasets - dataset and graph preservation - assessment of dataset evolution - assessment of dataset schema conformance and evolution - dataset quality analysis for query routing - assessment of data evolution and change propagation * Distributed semantic search: * - semantic annotation and expansion for keyword queries - keyword query interpretation and disambiguation for Linked Data - graph-based keyword search - multi-lingual search - categorization of keyword query interpretations and results, faceted search - fusing, cleaning, ranking and refining search results - scalability & performance of distributed data queries - novel applications for federated search over Linked Data ***************************** Submission Guidelines ***************************** We welcome the following types of contributions: * Short (up to 6 pages) and full (up to 15 pages) research papers; * Poster abstracts and system demonstrations should not exceed 4 pages. Papers should follow the Springer LNCS proceedings style. All submissions must be written in English and must be formatted according to the Springer LNCS proceedings style. Please submit your contributions electronically in PDF format via the Easychair system: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=profiles2014. Each submission will be reviewed by at least 3 members of the PC. The program committee consists of well-recognized experts (from both academia and industry) in the areas of semantic technologies, social Web, NLP/text processing, as well as data and knowledge management. Papers will be evaluated according to their significance, originality, technical content, style, clarity, and relevance to the workshop. At least one author of each accepted paper is expected to attend the workshop. ***************************** Important Dates ***************************** * 06 March 2014: Full & short research paper, poster & demo submission deadline * 01 April 2014: Notification of acceptance * 15 April 2014: Camera-ready paper * 26 May 2014: PROFILES 2014 workshop ***************************** Proceedings ***************************** The main proceedings of PROFILES 2014 will be published through the CEUR Workshop Proceedings (CEUR-WS.org). The best papers of the workshop will be also included in the supplementary proceedings of ESWC 2014, which will appear in the Springer LNCS series. ***************************** WORKSHOP ORGANISERS ***************************** - Elena Demidova (L3S Research Center, Germany) - Stefan Dietze (L3S Research Center, Germany) - Julian Szymanski (Gdansk University of Technology, Poland) - John Breslin (NUI Galway, Ireland) (Co-organised by ICT COST Action KEYSTONE, IC1302) ***************************** PROGRAMME COMMITTEE ***************************** - Charlie Abela, University of Malta, Malta - Dan Brickley, W3C and Google, UK - Marco Antonio Casanova, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Philippe Cudré-Mauroux, University of Fribourg, Switzerland - Maciej Dabrowski, Insight Centre for Data Analytics, NUI Galway, Ireland - Mathieu d'Aquin, The Open University, UK - Christophe Gueret, Data Archiving Network Services (DANS), NL - Tom Heath, The Open Data Institute (ODI), UK - Laura Hollink, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, NL - Markus Luczak-Rösch, University of Southampton, UK - Abdulhussain E.
