Nature Publishing Group - Software Developer, Linked Data Engineer

Nature Publishing Group is reengineering its entire production workflow and is
developing a set of distributed content repositories with a discovery service
built upon Linked Data principles. This follows on from its earlier work in
publishing large and continuously updated open datasets on the data.nature.com
Linked Data Platform together with offering a SPARQL endpoint. We believe that a
new distributed storage layer can best be managed by superimposing a graph over
the underlying content repositories and querying against that to build up a rich
network of relationships. A discussion of some key elements of our RDF

We are currently looking for a Linked Data Engineer to join our Agile team of
Java, Scala and XML developers to help us apply standard Linked Data
technologies such as RDF, SPARQL, SPARQL Update and Apache Jena to maintain our
production systems. Ideally you will have a strong interest in general web
principles, as well as a good knowledge of graph databases and RDF triplestores.
A real interest in managing large volumes of data and experience in developing
and maintaining ETL processes would help us in our mission to store and retrieve
content efficiently. By joining us, you will be expected to adapt to and help
drive continuous change and improvement within the team.
