The data- and web science research group at the University of Mannheim is offering a PhD position in a publically funded research project. The position has an initial duration of two years and is paid according to German salary scale (up to 2.500$ per months after taxes). An extension of the contract beyond the duration of the project is planned. We seek candidates with a university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in computer science or related areas with proven knowledge in at least one of the following areas: - Ontologies / Knowledge represenation and logical reasoning - Probabilistic reasoning / decision theory Good programming skills and fluent English are required. Experience in project work, German language skills and knowledge in IT-Infrastructure or IT service management are an advantage. The PhD regulations of the University of Mannheim require at least a B level exam.
