The SPDX[1] group is working on creating a vocabulary for describing software packages. SPDX provides ways to express manifest, ownership, provenance and rights information for software packages as a whole, and for the file contained in the package. The spec is close to being finalized. Before we reach that point we are seeking feed back from the larger community. The current draft of the RDF vocabulary description is at <http://spdx.org/rdf/terms>. The current draft of the full specification -- which also includes some specialized serializations of the same abstract model -- is available at <http://spdx.org/spec/current>. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It would probably be best to address comments to the SPDX technical team mailing list, <spdx-tech@fossbazaar.org>, or to file a bug[2]. Thanks in advance for your time and effort.
