The CALIPHO group of the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics has job 
openings for bioinformatics software developer(s).

*Job description*

The SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics is seeking one or more 
*bioinformatics software developers *to contribute to neXtProt 
(www.nextprot.org), a human-centric protein knowledge platform*. *The 
persons will join the neXtProt development team which is involved in the 
very challenging task of building an innovative integration platform 
that will provide a wealth of curated and quality-graded data on human 
proteins and the necessary bioinformatics tools to analyze them.

The persons will be part of CALIPHO 
(http://www.isb-sib.ch/groups/geneva/calipho-bairoch.html), a joint 
group of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and the University of 
Geneva. CALIPHO, co-directed by Amos Bairoch, the founder of Swiss-Prot 
and Lydie Lane, aims to use a combination of bioinformatics and 
experimental methodologies to increase our knowledge of human proteins.

*Profile requirements:*

·Experience with Java, Hibernate, Spring

·Experience with Web development technologies

·Experience with unit and integration testing

·Knowledge of relational databases

·Fluency in French and/or in English

Desirable:

·Groovy, Grails, Perl

·Knowledge of semantic web technologies

·Knowledge of the life sciences

·Preference to candidates that are Swiss citizens or B permit holders or 
EU/EFTA nationals
