============================================================ International Journal of Sensors, Wireless Communications and Control Call for Special Issue on Semantic Sensor Networks ============================================================ 'International Journal of Sensors, Wireless Communications and Control (SWCC;www.bentham.org/swcc) <http://www.bentham.org/swcc%29>' is an established peer-reviewed international journal devoted to publishing timely, in-depth reviews, research articles and communications on networked control systems whose sensors are interconnected via wireless communication networks. In addition to publishing regular review articles, the journal also publishes full-length or mini- 'Hot Topic' thematic issues that are guest-edited by leading scientists in their areas of research emphasis. Thematic issues are particularly widely-read and cited. ==================== Special Issue Outline ==================== Sensor technologies are often supporting pervasive and ubiquitous solutions and serve as means of perceiving real world conditions. Problems arise when information that is gathered from various deployed sensors needs to be homogenized, integrated, fused, reasoned upon and queried at. Following an approach based on semantic web technologies by embedding meaning and rendering the information both machine and human consumable seems to be a promising yet still to be evolved domain. Semantic web technologies and their applications in sensor information, such as ontologies, reasoning (distributed or centralized), triple stores, semantic annotations and metadata management, inference, semantic web services are all technologies that find numerous applications in sensor networks. This special issue aims to address semantic sensor network technologies and applications. Original research papers and state of the art reviews will be accepted. Topics of interest of this special issue include, but are not limited to: .. Semantic-based information monitoring, administering and querying .. Semantic sensor frameworks and applications .. Inference in sensor networks .. Semantic data integration in large-scale sensor networks .. Semantic data fusion and stream processing .. Semantic services architectures .. Knowledge management in sensor networks .. Scalability in semantic sensor networks .. Information flow in sensor networks. The special issue is highly inherent to the hot research topics of interest regarding knowledge in sensor networks. Papers submitted for publication for this special issue will be peer reviewed and selected on basis of their quality and relevance to the theme of this special issue. =============== Important Dates =============== Submission deadline: February 15th, 2011 Notification of paper acceptance: May 15th, 2011 Revised version deadline: July 15th, 2011 Final decision: August 15th, 2011 Camera ready: September 15th, 2011 Publication tentative: November 15th, 2011 ============== Guide for Authors ============== http://www.bentham.org/swcc/MSandI.htm <http://www.bentham.org/swcc/MSandI.htm> All submitted proposals and manuscripts will be peer-reviewed prior to a possible decision on acceptance for publication.
