Wiebe van der Hoek, Agent ART group of the University of Liverpool: "Reasoning about Normative Systems" We develop a model of normative systems, where roughly speaking the model is a transition-based system and a norm is the result of flagging some of the transitions as undesirable. We then use a language that is close to that of Computation Tree Logic to reason about such systems. We demonstrate how our framework facilitates to reason about compliance, power, and goal directed behavior. - John Sheridan, Head of e-Services in the Information Policy and Services Directorate of the UK's National Archives: "Written Laws are Like Spiders Webs" This talk examines the role and expectations of a public legislation service from the perspective oflegislation.gov.uk.
