     This workshop aims at bringing together researchers and
practitioners to share their experiences and their vision on the
challenges that have to be faced to adopt services in industry, with the
aim to establish a community around Enterprise Service Web technologies
that will drive research in this area and its still open challenges.  We
intend to feed the workshop results into a report that will be presented
to the Future Internet activity on Services and Architectures
(http://services.future-internet.eu).

     In the last years, a thriving research community has grown up in
the area of the Internet of Services.  We envision a future Web in which
billions of services will be seamlessly found, composed and executed just
as, in today's Web, we can find and browse billions of documents, and
that this services infrastructure will be enabled by the use of semantic
technologies.  A fulfilment of this vision, which we call the Service
Web, would lead also to a major disruption in business information
systems.  This vision will affect how enterprises store their data and
access computing resources in an even greater manner than cloud storage
and computing are already affecting it.  This would lead potentially to
business information systems using the Web to discover, chain, and
execute processes on their data in a flexible, dynamic manner and even
replace in-house or cloud-based information systems entirely. 
Performing business tasks could become a largely Web-based endeavour
just as knowledge tasks are increasingly becoming today.  To achieve
such vision, it is clear that the Service Web must not only reflect the
actual and ongoing research challenges but also adequately take into
account critical business aspects such as privacy, trust, data quality,
service policies, and cost of transition from current infrastructures.

SUBMISSION

* Long papers: max. 12 pages
* Work-in-progress reports: max. 6 pages

<br />
    Papers approved for presentation at ESW 2010 will be published in
the BIS 2010 workshop post-conference proceedings, as a volume in
Springer's Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP)
series.  The volume will be edited by Witold Abramowicz.  BIS 2010
Workshops proceedings will be distributed to BIS 2010 participants in
August 2010 by regular mail.
  
WORKSHOP FORMAT

    The workshop will be split into two parts: presentations of accepted
papers, and a panel-led discussion on how to enable the Enterprise
Service Web.
<br />
    At least one author of each paper needs to register for the
conference for the paper to be included in proceedings.
<br />
    Workshop registration entitles registrants to participate in the
conference, as well as in all workshops and tutorials held in
conjunction with it.

* April 2, 2010 - notification of acceptance/rejection
* April 23, 2010 - submission of final papers
* May 3-5, 2010 - the workshop
