The Research Center for Information System Design (IteG) of the University of Kassel (Germany) invites applications for the newly created position of a Junior Professor (W1) in Software Engineering for Ubiquitous Computing Applications. This position is initially for a fixed-term of 3 years with a potential extension for further 3 years depending on a successful evaluation of research and teaching activities. The position will be part of the interdisciplinary research cluster “Design of socio-technical networking applications in situative ubiquitous computing systems (VENUS)” funded by the State of Hesse as part of its LOEWE program for scientific excellence. The Junior Professor will represent the field “Software Engineering for Ubiquitous Computing Applications” in research and teaching. Applicants must possess a doctoral degree and an excellent research record in at least one of the following areas: • Software development for ubiquitous computing systems and mobile services • Design and implementation of contextual, adaptive software systems • Design and implementation of multimodal user interfaces • Software development methods • Sensor data processing • Service oriented software architectures for ubiquitous systems Experience in collaboration projects between research and industry as well as teaching experience are highly desirable.
