What is the easiest way to tag threads of messages from a list published in permanent archives on the internet. Let's say the Message Header like in the semantic-web@w3.org, public-lod@w3.org or another of the w3 lists uses standard prefixes such as ANN. How can we incorporate a plug-in in the browser to allow for selection of this tag into the message header when composing an email to submit to the list, and what would the tagging on the archival pages then look like? The discussion about the semantic desktop got me thinking about this and several other lists to which I subscribe, totally unrelated are in the process of trying to introduce message header tagging, as a type of "digital body language messages" system to give a hint in advance of the content of the message and allow for filtering on content.
