Re: RDF in Drupal core code sprint

We recommend a revision of security issues with Drupal as well. On the internet ample evidence can be found of recent hacks into Drupal.

We have ourselves put Drupal on the backburner, because our hosting services have indicated the faults lie with Drupal, not hosting service security measures in place.

Hi,

DERI Galway is organizing a 4-day code sprint this month to work on
integrating RDFa in Drupal core. A code sprint is a gathering of about a
dozen of developers who focus on a particular list of features and
produce code/patches. Our main goal is to enable RDF in the Fields API
which is now part of Drupal core. With Fields, you can create new
content type (e.g. event) and attach fields to it (date, location,
organizers, description). This is already possible today. Our goal now
is to map these pieces of data to RDF terms programmatically (for the
modules which ship with Drupal) and via a UI (for the administrators who
want to create/edit fancy content types). Content types and their fields
are equivalent to RDF classes and RDF properties, respectively. See the
SFSW09 workshop paper "RDFa in Drupal: Bringing Cheese to the Web of
Data"[1] for a more detailed description of the approach.

This sprint builds on Dries' post "Drupal, the semantic web and search"
[2]. We are not talking about a separate RDF module here, we want to
integrate RDF directly into the core of Drupal! No need to install extra
plugins, it's meant to just work out of the box! With RDF in the core of
Drupal and RDFa output by default, it's hundreds of thousands of
websites which will all of a sudden start publishing their data as RDF:
Raw Data Out! [3]. This will open the doors to more mainstream RDF data
which has been until now mainly reserved for some privileged geeks.

There are many ways you can help make this happen. We are looking for
use cases which you would like to see happening in Drupal. You can also
