This is sad news. Norbert Mikula was (amongst many other things) a contributor to the early RDF/RDFS work at W3C. --Dan -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [xml-dev] Norbert Mikula Date: Sat, 17 Jan 2009 09:28:23 -0800 (PST) From: mc@xegesis.org <mc@xegesis.org> Reply-To: mc@xegesis.org <mc@xegesis.org> To: xml-dev@lists.xml.org I'm sad to pass on the news that Norbert Mikula passed away this week. Norbert was very active in the early XML community. He wrote one of the first validating parsers, was CTO of the pioneering XML company DataChannel, and held leadership roles at OASIS and JTC1. More recently he worked at Intel, and since 2007 in the central standards team at Microsoft. See http://www.legacy.com/SeattleTimes/DeathNotices.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonId=122901048 . There's a field there in which those who knew him can pass on messages to his family. _______________________________________________________________________ XML-DEV is a publicly archived, unmoderated list hosted by OASIS to support XML implementation and development.
