****** Apologies for multiple postings ****** Research Assistant: Semantic Web (Ref: 5113) £25,888 -- £27,466 - Based in Milton Keynes (UK) - 15 months The Open University's Knowledge Media Institute has an opening for an experienced person to take on the role of Research Assistant to contribute to the development of the Watson Semantic Web gateway (http://watson.kmi.open.ac.uk) and of related technologies, supporting Semantic Web search, semantic application development and knowledge publishing on the Semantic Web. This work takes place within the context of the EU-funded Integrated Project NeOn (http://neon-project.org). You should have experience in advanced, large-scale Web development, and have a strong interest in Semantic Web, as well as in Web 2.0 applications. Experience in languages such as Java/Javascript/PHP, in Semantic Web libraries such as Jena, and in search libraries such as Lucene would be highly advantageous. You should also demonstrate your ability to work within a research team, and will be asked to follow agile development methods.
