Apologies for multiple posts ---------------------------------------------------------- EKAW 2008 – Call for Posters and Demos (first call) 16th International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management – "Knowledge Patterns" 29th September-3rd October 2008 - Acitrezza, Catania (Italy) http://ekaw2008.inrialpes.fr The Poster Session at EKAW 2008 is an opportunity to discuss late-breaking results, ongoing research projects, and innovative work-in-progress which may not yet be ready for a full paper. We are looking for contributions whose nature make them less suited for submission to the official paper track. In addition to posters we are looking for demonstrations of new systems both for eliciting, acquiring, modelling and managing knowledge, as well as knowledge-intensive systems and services for the semantic web, knowledge management, e-business, natural language processing, intelligent integration of information, etc. In particular, but not exclusively, we solicit posters and demos concerned with the general theme of “knowledge patterns” and/or the following topics: ONTOLOGY DESIGN * Ontology design patterns * Collaborative ontology design * Ontology dynamics * Ontology evaluation and selection * Automatic ontology construction NETWORKED ONTOLOGIES OVER THE SEMANTIC WEB * Ontology matching * Web semantics * Semantic social networks * Semantic Wikis, Semantic Blogs * Semantics in multimedia technologies * Contextual reasoning KNOWLEDGE REENGINEERING * Ontology learning * Knowledge-based information extraction * Reengineering conceptual models and schemas * Reengineering folksonomies, lexicons, thesauri * Hybridating Ontology Engineering and NLP techniques PROCESS KNOWLEDGE AND SEMANTIC SERVICES * Ontologies and agents * Semantic web services * Semantic portals and intrawebs * Semantic mashup * Semantic grid services * Knowledge Services for e-Science * Problem solving methods and semantic web services * Peer to Peer communication between semantic systems * Brokering systems SOCIAL AND COGNITIVE ASPECTS OF KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING * Human factors in knowledge management * Sustainability and cost analysis of knowledge engineering * Human-ontology interaction * Cognitive systems and knowledge engineering Poster papers will be evaluated by the program committee based on criteria such as originality, significance, and clarity. Demo proposals will be evaluated based on novelty and significance of the application as well as the use of knowledge engineering and knowledge management technologies for solving the problem. Specific attention will this year be put on the notion of “knowledge patterns” and both poster submissions and demos considering this topic will be especially appreciated. Poster and demo submissions should be in the form of an extended abstract. Poster abstracts may not exceed 3 pages in length and demo submissions may not exceed 5 pages, both should conform to the Springer LNCS style. Note that poster and demo papers will NOT be included in the EKAW proceedings published as Springer LNCS but published separately by the organising agency (they will additionally be made available at the EKAW website). Submissions are accepted in PDF format only and should be uploaded at the EasyChair conference submissions site. For details on formatting and submissions refer to the conference website: http://ekaw2008.inrialpes.fr Accepted posters will be displayed at the conference. Details about poster size, display materials, sessions etc. will be made available later. Presenters of demos will also be requested to attend the poster/demo session to demonstrate their system to the conference attendees. At least one author of each accepted submission must register for the conference and attend the poster/demo session. IMPORTANT DATES June 10 – Submission opens June 16 – Submission deadline for poster/demo extended abstracts July 7 – Notification of acceptance August 22 – Camera ready deadline for poster/demo abstracts Poster and Demo Chair Eva Blomqvist, Jönköping University, Sweden. eva.blomqvist@jth.hj.se _______________________________________________ Neon-All mailing list Neon-All@lists.neon-project.org http://lists.neon-project.org/listinfo.cgi/neon-all-neon-project.org
