Dear all,
This is advance notice that a Video on the Web Activity Proposal is in
development. The general scope of the proposed Video on the Web activity
is to provide cohesion in the video-related activities of W3C and to
help other W3C G
roups in their efforts to provide video functionalities.
In addition, this Proposed Activity will focus at implementing the next
steps from the W3C workshop on Video on the Web. The proposal is
available to Members and public:
  http://www.w3.org/2008/01/video-activity
The proposal encompasses two existing Groups and 3 new proposed Groups.
We welcome your early feedback on the proposal as a whole, and in
particular on these draft charters for new Working Groups:
  1) Media Fragments Working Group Charter
     http://www.w3.org/2008/01/media-fragments-wg
  2) Media Best Practices and Guidelines Working Group Charter
     http://www.w3.org/2008/01/media-guidelines-wg
  3) Media Annotations Working Group Charter
     http://www.w3.org/2008/01/media-annotations-wg
The Media Annotations Working Group is relevant for the Semantic Web and
I welcome especially comments from the Semantic Web community on the
proposed charter,
Regards
Philippe
