Eric, There are some relevant datasets in the Linking Open Data cloud. Most prominently, Joshua Tauberer's GovTrack and US Census datasets: http://simile.mit.edu/mail/ReadMsg?listName=Linking%20Open%20Data&msgId=20549 http://www.rdfabout.com/demo/census/ Also, some data from EuroStat republished by Free University Berlin: http://www4.wiwiss.fu-berlin.de/eurostat/ All are examples of data made available by government agencies, converted to RDF and re-published on the Semantic Web by third parties.
