The December 2007 issue of the SemanticReport

The December 2007 issue of the SemanticReport is now available online at
www.semanticreport.com.

Our mission is to bring together information that helps focus on the
business aspects of semantic technologies and applications. Simply stated,
that means we are concerned about presenting the business application of the
technology rather than the more academic information. SemanticReport
publishes content in traditional Web formats as well as in common Web feed
formats such as RSS. But as part of its semantic model, each key resource on
the site (each article, author, topic, etc.) is connected to a persistent
URL (PURL) which offers not only a redirect to the referenced content, but
also an RDF representation of the metadata associated with that resource,
creating a combination called "rich PURLs".

This month's issue of the SemanticReport has a new look, and some slightly
different content. The changes reflect our continuing efforts to make the
SemanticReport relevant to your work, and a resource that demonstrates a
business implementation of Semantic Technology. If you haven't yet seen it,
be sure to check out the Semantic Report

want to see included and we will do our best to provide them.

We are excited and encouraged by the content offerings in this issue. As you
look through the articles, I expect you will recognize the names of many of
the authors as prominent participants in the semantic technology community.
You are also likely to see names you have not encountered before. Please
leave your feedback in the comments sections provided in each article, or
email them directly to me. If you would like to make a contribution as an

Beginning in 2008 the SemanticReport will be accepting sponsors for a
limited number of banner advertisements. We have a unique audience; one that
is focused on the use of semantic technology and knowledgeable about its
possibilities. At the same time, we are reaching out to the more general
business audience that may or may not understand what semantic technology
is, or what products and services are available to them. Contact

And please pass it along to any associates you think may be interested.

We welcome your comments, suggestions, and editorial contributions.
