at Universita' Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona (Italy) has Ph.D 
positions available to work in the area of Semantic Web and Multimedia 

The work will to revolve around, but not be limited to,  the Semantic 
Web Communities model as enabled by the DBin platform http://dbin.org.
In particular, the research will seek to explore scenarios, use cases 
and enabling tools to allow human created annotations to be integrated 
and used seamlessly with those produced automatically or semi 
automatically by metadata content analysis.

- A Master degree or equivalent (to be obtained earlier than Dec 31st 2006)
- Experience in concepts and tools of the Semantic Web
- Teamworking skills, constructive and propositional attitude
- Optional but preferred: experience and knowledge in computational 
intelligence and/or signal processing
- Optional but preferred: strong software developing skills

3 years sharp. (Ph.D period has a fixed length in Italy)

As we seek excellent and motivated candidates, we commit to providing a 
salary up to 50% higher than usual for such position (therefore > than 
1300e/mo). Higher pays under special circumstances might be possible.

Although the selection will happen in September/October, interested
