Dear All, we would like to thank all the academics and practitioners (more than 150 people) that submitted a paper for consideration in the AIS SIGSEMIS (http://www.sigsemis.org) endorsed special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering journal, on the theme of "Data and Knowledge Engineering in the Semantic Web Era". We received 58 papers from all over the world and we are working hard towards the development of a high quality special issue for publication in Early 2007. You can find a full report on this in the next AIS SIGSEMIS Bulletin 2(3) 2005, scheduled for publication in 3Oth October (Get our last AIS SIGSEMIS Bulletin: http://www.sigsemis.org/newsletter/july2005/vol2_issue2.pdf) We invite you to be a member of our SIG, which is open to everyone: http://www.sigsemis.org/sig/membership/document_view. If you are not interested in the official registration just drop me a mail to list you in the SIGSEMIS "friends" section. We are also more than happy that our AIS SIGSEMIS sponsored journal, the IJ on Semantic Web and Information Systems (EIC: Prof. Amit Sheth)(http://www.idea-group.com/ijswis)is in a very good order providing an excellent publication outlet for researchers from the CS, SW and IS communities. If you are interested in published articles and complimentary issues I would be happy to serve you. Last but not least: We are developing new publication opportunities for SW researchers. The interesting mix of CS, SW and IS is our unique value proposition for the realization of the benefits of SW for our society. Two special issues in TOP journals in 2008 have almost been agreed. I am happy that Prof. Thomas Davenport (www.tomdavenport.com) has aggreed to coedit a special issue on Semantic Web based Knowledge and Information Mgmt Systems (providing the IS point of view) and we are discussing with two TOP SW Professors to complete the guest editorial team. Join us !!! On behalf of IEEE TKDE SW Special Issue Co-Editors (Prof. Gottfried Vossen and Dr. Nick Koudas) Dr. Miltiadis D.
