We continue to develop the XSLT stylesheet which transforms NewsML 2 metadata to RDF. The next version will: - Output the RDF in the N3 format rather than the N-triples format. - Handle at least some of the attributes and child elements which can be used to make further statements about the metadata. These divide into a number of classes: a) info about the concept: title, type, sameAs, childOf. b) info about the triple: creator, created, confidence, relevance, why. c) grouping of concepts: bag. d) specialised child elements: eg person, organization. We've decided that the stylesheet will: - Not perform any validation. XML-Schema-aware tools should be used for this purpose. - Ignore proprietary extensions, be they attributes or child elements, as there is no way for the stylesheet to know the semantics of such extensions. The stylesheet is available at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/newsml-2/files/Contributed-Tools/ Misha Wolf News Standards Manager, Reuters, www.reuters.com Chair, News Metadata Framework WG, IPTC, www.iptc.org/dev Vice-Chair, NewsML 2 Architecture WP, IPTC, www.iptc.org/dev To find out more about Reuters visit www.about.reuters.com Any views expressed in this message are those of the individual sender, except where the sender specifically states them to be the views of Reuters Ltd.
