The symbol (or text) for collapsing/expanding must be a child (not a deeper descendant) of *<summary>* . Once again, without any styling (such as when the css stylesheet files cannot be located by the browser), the *…*is properly displayed on the same line as the title of the section. This proves that the anomalous placing on the next line is caused by the styles that are being applied.
