Turns out they did backport the GCM support into OpenSSL 1.0.1. That
doesn't hit any Linux distributions of recent vintage, but it at least
gets the code out there for other platforms that do generally current
packaging.

I expect to add that to my projects, which includes Apache Santuatrio/C++,
in the near future.
