Steve

Thanks for your interest and posting. It would be great if you could be involved in C14N2 interop.

To sign up to the public list you need to send a message to public-xmlsec-request @ w3.org<http://w3.org> with "subscribe" as the subject, see

Folks,

My name is Steve Klos and I’m the executive director of TagVault.org<http://TagVault.org/> as well as a managing director of a consulting organization called Agnitio Advisors. I would generally use my TagVault.org<http://TagVault.org/> address to send this e-mail, but the network I’m on currently is not allowing an SSL connection back to the TagVault.org<http://TagVault.org/> SMTP server. My work with the consulting organization and the non-profit organization are tangentially related to each other, but there is no direct association between the two.

I’m interested in joining up with this public distribution list due to the fact that TagVault.org<http://TagVault.org/> has implemented C14N v1 as part of the process for digitally signing software identification (SWID) tags that are based on the ISO/IEC 19770-2:2009 standard. These digital signatures, along with a timestamp that’s based on the XADES implementation, provide authoritative information for any organization in the software supply, distribution and use markets so that organizations can know exactly who published a software title as well as having explicit details on the identification of the software identification information.

I am particularly interested in the C14N v2 future recommendation. The specific issue of interest in the C14N v2 at this particular time is the handling of white space as part of the canonicalization process. Unfortunately, we are currently a small non-profit organization and at this point in time, our cash flow does not allow us to implement C14N v2 to help W3C provide market validation of the approach. If this changes in the near future, we would be glad to provide an implementation to validate the approach…

Hopefully, by sending an e-mail to this distribution list, I’ll be signed up for automatic distribution of future e-mail’s posted to this list.

Regards,

Steve Klos
