All:
Although the WS-RA Working Group has published a Last Call working
draft of Web Services Fragment [1] I believe we should still discuss
producing a common profile of XPath - separating the XPath profiling
material out of WS-Fragment and XML Signature 2.0 [2] into a new
separate document.
Bob, the chair of WS-RA, and I briefly discussed this and it appears
that restructuring material in a document should not affect the Last
Call status of that material (though I suspect a new XPath profile
document would probably warrant a new Last Call, in particular for new
material). However removing the material from WS-Fragment should not
require a new Last Call of that document.
It seems that now would be a good time to start working on considering
creating a separate XPath profile document - before WS-Fragment
progresses further.
To this end I have created a draft document that outlines what the
differences are and how we can proceed. Corrections and suggestions
