From the NIST Cryptographic Key Management Workshop [1] the "2010 Transitions" presentation might be of interest, related to security strengths and need for transitions: http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/ST/key_mgmt/documents/June09_Presentations/Elaine_Barker_Transitions_KMWS_June2009.pdf This outlines what will be "disallowed" in various time frames.
