The XML Processing Model Working Group requests approval to transition two specifications to First Public Working Draft: XProc 2.0: An XML Pipeline Language, and XProc 2.0: Standard Step Library. ============================================================ Title : XProc 2.0: An XML Pipeline Language Short Name : xproc20 Description : This specification describes the syntax and semantics of XProc 2.0: An XML Pipeline Language, a language for describing operations to be performed on documents. TR Categories: XML Publication URI: http://www.w3.org/TR/2014/WD-xproc20-20141216/ Latest version URI: http://www.w3.org/TR/xproc20 Editors' Draft URI: http://www.w3.org/XML/XProc/staging/WD-xproc20-20141216/ We hope to publish this document on 16 December 2014. The pubrules clean document staged at the Editor's draft location is what we plan to publish. == Document Abstract == This specification describes the syntax and semantics of XProc 2.0: An XML Pipeline Language, a language for describing operations to be performed on documents. An XML Pipeline specifies a sequence of operations to be performed on documents. Pipelines generally accept documents as input and produce documents as output. Pipelines are made up of simple steps which perform atomic operations on documents and constructs similar to conditionals, iteration, and exception handlers which control which steps are executed. == Document Status section == This section describes the status of this document at the time of its publication. A list of current W3C publications and the latest revision of this technical report can be found in the W3C technical reports index at http://www.w3.org/TR/. Publication as a First Public Working Draft does not imply endorsement by the W3C Membership. This is a draft document and may be updated, replaced or obsoleted by other documents at any time. It is inappropriate to cite this document as other than work in progress. The significant changes in this draft are summarized in Appendix J, Change Log. This document is a product of the XML Processing Model Working Group as part of the W3C XML Activity. This draft is a first attempt to address some of the requirements of [XProc V2.0 Requirements]. It is in many ways substantially incomplete. The Working Group is publishing it in order to establish an intended direction and to provide an official opportunity for comment. Please report errors in this document by raising issues on the specification repository. Alternatively, you may report errors in this document to the public mailing list public-xml-processing-model-comments@w3.org (public archives are available). This document was produced by a group operating under the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy. W3C maintains a public list of any patent disclosures made in connection with the deliverables of the group; that page also includes instructions for disclosing a patent. An individual who has actual knowledge of a patent which the individual believes contains Essential Claim(s) must disclose the information in accordance with section 6 of the W3C Patent Policy. This document is governed by the 14 October 2005 W3C Process Document. == Delta specification == This is not a delta specification. == Record of the decision to request the transition == The XML Processing Model Working Group agreed to request this transition in the WG telcon of 10 December 2014 http://www.w3.org/XML/XProc/2014/12/10-minutes#item03 ============================================================ Title : XProc 2.0: Standard Step Library Short Name : xproc20-steps Description : This specification describes the standard step vocabulary of XProc 2.0: An XML Pipeline Language.
