Accept this agenda?
-> [15]http://www.w3.org/XML/XProc/2013/12/11-agenda
Accepted.
Accept minutes from the previous meeting?
-> [16]http://www.w3.org/XML/XProc/2013/11/13-minutes
Accepted.
Next meeting: 8 Jan 2014. Happy New Year!
Jim gives regrets for 8 Jan.
Review of open action items
Norm: I closed a couple
<jf_2013> updated xml processing home page with links to latest minutes
<jf_2013> [17]http://www.w3.org/XML/Processing/
A-235-02 is completed.
Thanks, Jim
Progress on XML processor profiles
Norm: We're chipping away on actions and waiting to hear back from
Michael.
Henry: I think that' s right.
Jim: I added a table to the invariants section.
<jf_2013> [18]http://www.w3.org/XML/XProc/docs/xml-proc-profiles.html
Progress on rechartering
Norm: I was hoping to hear from Liam, but I haven't.
Mohamed: The "state machine" XML just went into Last Call. There's
something similar to general pipelines in there; do we have to liase with
them?
<MoZ> [19]http://www.w3.org/TR/scxml/
Norm: We weren't asked to review it, but if it's got pipeline stuff in it
then we probably should.
<jf_2013> I've read it before
Mohamed: I thought I saw a paper about XProc and scxml.
Jim: I think there's a paper. I read scxml a while ago; it is a kind of
pipeline.
... It's a different approach. We're flow-based. Managing state is a
fundamentally different approach.
Henry: It's not the state machine that's the issue, it's the executable
content that's the issue.
Mohamed: This document looks to have been rewritten since the previous
draft.
... Just to put into the discussion that there is some thought around XML
and synchronization and processing.
<scribe> ACTION: Jim to review scxml and provide a summary of the
similarities and differences. [recorded in
[20]http://www.w3.org/2013/12/11-xproc-minutes.html#action01]
Henry: I think the fundamental question is, does XML flow through these
control structures?
Progress on zip/unzip?
Norm: Have you made any progress, Jim?
Jim: I've made some progress, but it's not ready to publish yet.
Any other business?
Proposed face-to-face meeting in Edinburgh after XML Prague
<jf_2013> I could come
Norm: How many people would attend?
<MoZ> I won't
Norm: I hear yeas from Henry, Jim, Norm, Alex, and possibly Vojtech
Proposal: we shall meet in Edinburgh face-to-face possibly contingent on
the rechartering
Accepted.
Henry: When would we meet?
Norm: I propose Feb 18, 19 and possibly 20.
Henry: I'll book a room!
Norm: Thank you Henry
... Any other any other business?
Mohamed: Michael Kay started discussion about chained pipelines in XSLT
3.0. I don't know how this relates to XProc.
Norm: Yes, I plan to respond.
... Adjourned. Happy holidays and Merry New Year to you all!
<jf_2013> merry xmas/ happy new year
