"Canonical XML" step

Hello,
 
I would appreciate XProc to have a "Canonical XML" step in the Standard
Step 
Library (Appendix A), preferably as "required" (and not "optional").
 
I agree that canonical XML (http://www.w3.org/TR/xml-c14n) is not a very

hot subject, but canonizing an XML is a very simple way to pretty-print 
it or convert it to UTF-8.
