The XML Core WG telcons are every other week. HOWEVER, neither Paul nor Norm can make October 17, and October 31 will be in the middle of TPAC. Therefore, our next telcon will be November 14. Status and open actions ======================= Error Recovery Note ------------------- Liam raised an issue about a note about error recovery at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xml-core-wg/2012Sep/0002 Neither Paul nor Norm thought creating such a note was going to be particularly useful, and Paul wondered why the XML Core WG should write a note about something that is not XML, but we decided we would pick this up when Liam and others can be on the call. Fall TPAC --------- There will be a TPAC meeting in Lyon, France in October/November: http://www.w3.org/2012/10/TPAC/Overview.html We have signed up to have a WG f2f there. Likely to attend: Norm, Liam, Henry, Jirka, Mohamed Not likely to attend: Glenn, Paul, John, Daniel Key topic will probably be XInclude 1.1 and any misc items. We will not have dial in capability, but those meeting in Lyon are urged to use the #xmlcore channel of IRC. xml-stylesheet and HTML5 ------------------------ Henry took an action to file a bug about xml-stylesheet handling. Done: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=14689 Henry has done a lot more testing and filing of results to date. Henry's tests are at http://www.w3.org/XML/2011/11/ssTests/ You need to look at the README and README2 files there. The CSS2 spec says something about styling XML with CSS. Henry also notes http://www.w3.org/Style/styling-XML.en.html. Henry has filed bugs against the HTML5 spec saying that it should support styling XML with CSS. Currently, there are: [Bug 17976] New: xml-stylesheet with type=text/xsl needs to be handled explicitly and [Bug 14689] xml-stylesheet with type=text/xsl needs to be handled explicitly A lot of bugzilla email has been exchanged on this issue. It looks like we have agreement to address it, but only in HTML.next. Henry is not happy about this issue being pushed to HTML.next. He has pushed back personally, but now he asks the WG to consider escalating this issue. CONSENSUS to make an official WG statement requesting that handling of xml-stylesheet with type=text/xsl be addressed in HTML5 (V.now). ACTION to Norm: Write a WG statement on this and post it as a bugreport response from the WG. Also plan to discuss this with HTML5 folks at TPAC. 3023bis ------- Henry reports that Chris Lilley has agreed that Henry can be a co-editor so that we can make some progress on 3023bis. XInclude 1.1 ------------ On 2012 February 14, we published XInclude 1.1 Requirement and Use Cases http://www.w3.org/TR/xinclude-11-requirements/ We have developed a first draft at http://www.w3.org/XML/2012/10/WD-xinclude-11-20121009/ and requested on October 3 at https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/chairs/2012OctDec/0005 that it be published as our FPWD. However, we have gotten no response to our October 3 requests as of October 8. Paul sent a follow up. ACTION to Liam: See to it that we get a response to our request for XInclude 1.1. XML Model --------- Associating Schemas with XML documents 1.0 (Second Edition) was published at http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/NOTE-xml-model-20110811/ on 11 August 2011. Jirka has informed us that the ISO version can be downloaded for free from: http://standards.iso.org/ittf/PubliclyAvailableStandards/c054793_ISO_IEC_19757-11_2011.zip (Note, you have to accept the ISO license agreement before download.) Paul created an updated 3rd Edition of the WG Note accordingly at http://www.w3.org/XML/2012/10/xml-model/ and requested on October 3 at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xml-core-wg/2012Oct/0011 that it be published. However, we have gotten no response to our October 3 requests as of October 8. Paul sent a follow up. ACTION to Liam: See to it that we get a response to our request to published XML Model Third Edition.
