Transition Request: PER Request #2 for Associating Style Sheets with XML documents 1.0 (Second Edition)

The XML Core WG requests transition of 
 Associating Style Sheets with XML documents 1.0 (Second Edition)
available at
http://www.w3.org/XML/2010/08/xml-stylesheet/	
to a Proposed Edited Recommendation (PER).  

The URL cited above is for the most recent  
version of the specification as of 31 August 2010,   
dated to reflect the expected publication date of
9 September 2010 and designed to be published by having
the directory moved over to
http://www.w3.org/TR/2010/PER-xml-stylesheet-201000909/   
in its entirety.

The Associating Style Sheets with XML documents 1.0 (First 
Edition) was published on 29 June 1999 at
http://www.w3.org/1999/06/REC-xml-stylesheet-19990629/
as a Recommendation.  

This second edition incorporates all known errata as of the 
publication date, clarifies several areas left unspecified 
in the earlier edition, and has been restructured to allow 
other specifications to reuse the rules for parsing 
pseudo-attributes from a string. This edition, once it 
becomes a Recommendation, will supersede the previous edition 
of 29 June 1999.

Changes since the first edition are outlined in Appendix B.

Several editor's drafts of this Second Edition have been 
published and comments have been solicited and reflected in this
latest draft PER as indicated in a Disposition of Comments at
http://www.w3.org/XML/2010/01/disposition.html.

There was a previous transition request for this document at

The transition was not approved due to an outstanding
objection which has now been removed due to further

SCHEDULE

We propose a publication date of 9 September 2010.

We propose that the PER period lasts from the date of publication
until 14 October 2010.

This document allows style sheets to be associated with an XML 
document by including one or more processing instructions with 
a target of xml-stylesheet in the document's prolog.

This section describes the status of this document at the time of its

This document is a product of the XML Core Working Group as part of the
W3C XML Activity. The English version of this specification is the only
