Here is my (hopefully final) draft Transition Request for PER for Associating Style Sheets with XML documents 1.0 (Second Edition). Henry, see my suggested SoTD below, but feel free to adjust if you feel it necessary. Note that the PER-ready draft should be put into http://www.w3.org/XML/2010/04/xml-stylesheet/ to match what this request says below. Also note the expected 20 April publication date. I plan to send in this request as soon as Henry announces the PER-ready draft is in http://www.w3.org/XML/2010/04/xml-stylesheet/ Liam, Carine, Please let me know if I have the "To" list below correct. (For example, should I still be sending to plh and ralph and/or should I be including Jeff Jaffe, Philipp Hoschka or someone else?) paul ----------------------------------------------------------- Eventually-To: timbl@w3.org; plh@w3.org; ralph@w3.org; liam@w3.org Eventually-Cc: w3t-comm@w3.org; chairs@w3.org; public-xml-core-wg@w3.org The XML Core WG requests transition of Associating Style Sheets with XML documents 1.0 (Second Edition) available at http://www.w3.org/XML/2010/04/xml-stylesheet/ to a Proposed Edited Recommendation (PER). The URL cited above is for the most recent Member-only version of the specification as of 9 April 2010, dated to reflect the expected publication date of 20 April 2010 and designed to be published by having the directory moved over to http://www.w3.org/TR/2010/PER-xml-stylesheet-20100420/ in its entirety. The Associating Style Sheets with XML documents 1.0 (First Edition) was published on 29 June 1999 at http://www.w3.org/1999/06/REC-xml-stylesheet-19990629/ as a Recommendation. This second edition incorporates all known errata as of the publication date, clarifies several areas left unspecified in the earlier edition, and has been restructured to allow other specifications to reuse the rules for parsing pseudo-attributes from a string. This edition, once it becomes a Recommendation, will supersede the previous edition of 29 June 1999. Changes since the first edition are outlined in Appendix B. Several editor's drafts of this Second Edition have been published, most recently that of 2010 March 22 at http://www.w3.org/XML/2010/03/xml-stylesheet/ and comments have been solicited and reflected in this latest draft PER as indicated in a Disposition of Comments at http://www.w3.org/XML/2010/01/disposition.html. The WG's decision to request transition to a PER was taken during a WG telcon on April 7 whose minutes may be found at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xml-core-wg/2010Apr/0007 SCHEDULE We propose a publication date of 20 April 2010. We propose that the PER period lasts from the date of publication until 22 May 2010.
