It occurred to me that not only processing instructions could have pseudo-attributes, but potentially also comments or attribute values or character data or any other string, should someone want it. For instance, an authoring tool could save authoring state as pseudo-attributes in a comment. It seems like a simple change in the spec to allow the input be just a string.
