I am a bit confused. I cannot see where the document at http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/2006/09/xmlbase-2e/ references http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/ . I does reference http://www.w3.org/XML/Core/ which is the public home page for the WG. As far as I can tell, it doesn't--and shouldn't--mention http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/Core since that is a member-only page. I think you are asking permission to change http://www.w3.org/2004/01/pp-impl/18796/admin to reference http://www.w3.org/XML/Core/ instead of http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/Core . I think that is fine with me, since I don't think it makes any difference to the WG, but I'm not sure. In what way would such a change affect the WG? paul > -----Original Message----- > From: Jules Clement-Ripoche [mailto:jules@w3.org] > Sent: Wednesday, 2008 March 19 13:09 > To: Grosso, Paul > Cc: plh@w3.org; w3t-comm@w3.org; webreq@w3.org; > public-xml-core-wg@w3.org; ht@w3.org; Norman.Walsh@Sun.COM > Subject: Re: Publication Request: PER for XML Base Second Edition > > [dropping timbl, Steve & chairs] > [adding Henry Thompson, Norman Walsh] > > On this document you mention that the WG home page is > http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/ where our systems record it as > http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/Core > > As discuss earlier on with Ian on IRC [1] we would like to update > your working group home page on our systems [2][3] to avoid > further confusion > with the patent policy. > > Thanks, > Jules > > [1] IRC log : > 11:28 < IanJ> here we go: > 11:29 < IanJ> http://www.w3.org/2004/01/pp-impl/18796/admin > 11:29 < IanJ> says that the group home is: > 11:29 < IanJ> http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/Core > 11:29 < IanJ> and member mail says: > 11:29 < IanJ> same thing > 11:29 * IanJ reads error msg again > 11:29 < IanJ> right > 11:29 < IanJ> the status section uses public home > 11:30 < IanJ> the status is ok > 11:30 < IanJ> that part at least > 11:31 < IanJ> we could ask the wg if we can update their "home page" > to be the public one in our various resources. > 11:31 < IanJ> that should make it go away. > 11:31 < IanJ> Dom? > 11:31 < IanJ> Is there any implication in terms of records of patent > obligations when we change a wg home page? > 11:32 < dom> no > 11:32 < IanJ> ok > 11:32 < IanJ> Thanks > 11:32 < IanJ> Jules, the status bits around ipp are ok. > 11:32 < IanJ> Please ask the wg if we can update our records to use > their public home. > > [2] http://www.w3.org/Member/Mail > [3] http://www.w3.org/2004/01/pp-impl/18796/admin > > > On Tue, Mar 18, 2008 at 11:07:13AM -0400, Grosso, Paul wrote: > > > > > > The XML Core WG requests publication of > > XML Base (Second Edition) > > available at > > http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/2006/09/xmlbase-2e/ > > as a Proposed Edited Recommendation (PER). > > > > The URL cited above is for the most recent Member-only > > version of the specification as of 12 March 2008, > > dated to reflect the expected publication date of > > 20 March 2008 and designed to be published by having > > the directory moved over to > > http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/PER-xmlbase-20080320/ > > in its entirety. > > > > > > SCHEDULE > > > > We ask webreq/comm to publish this PER on 20 March 2008. > > > > Approval to publish is recorded at > > http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xml-core-wg/2008Mar/0039 > > > > > > > > Paul Grosso and Norman Walsh, chairs of the XML Core WG. > > -- > Jules CR <jules@w3.org> > W3C Webmaster >
