Philippe sent an interesting message to the C14n-1/1 comment list.
He's right in that XML/1.1 is not mentioned at all in the C14N/1.1 draft.
Among the XML/1.1 list of changes[1], we find:
- XML names now allow almost any character
- Two new characters to declare end of line
- Representation of arbitrary Unicode characters
- A set of constraints called "full normalization" [2]
I think that the first three changes don't affect C14/1.1. We're using
a Unicode normalization specified elsewhere (Form C).
For the last one, I'm not sure what is the effect. Maybe we should
add a paragraph saying how C14N/1.1 is different from the XML/1.1 "full
normalization"?

What is the relation between c14n 1.1 and XML 1.1? At present, the
specification doesn't mention at XML 1.1 and it is not clear if c14n 1.1
is applicable or not to XML 1.1.
