Here is my draft PER requestion for XInclude 1.0 2nd Ed. One question I have (mostly for Philippe and Henry) is what IP paragraph we should have. The XInclude 1.0 uses CPP. What should this 2nd Ed use? paul --------- Eventually-to: timbl@w3.org; steve@w3.org Eventually-cc: public-xml-core-wg@w3.org; webreq@w3.org; chairs@w3.org; w3t-comm@w3.org The XML Core WG requests publication of XML Inclusions (XInclude) Version 1.0 (Second Edition) available at http://www.w3.org/XML/2006/04/XInclude/REC-xinclude-20060423.html @@@ as a Proposed Edited Recommendation (PER). The URL cited above is for the most recent Member-only version of the specification as of DD MMM 2006 but @@@ dated DD MMM 2006 in anticipation of publication then. @@@ That file is set up to be published by moving it to http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/REC-xinclude-20060424/Overview.html @@@ The XInclude 1.0 First Edition was published on 20 December 2004 at http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-xinclude-20041220/ as a Recommendation. All changes to the document are recorded in the XInclude Errata document at http://www.w3.org/2004/12/xinclude-errata A diff-marked review copy is available at http://www.w3.org/XML/2006/04/XInclude/REC-xinclude-20060423-review.html @@@ The WG's decision to request publication as a PER was taken during a WG telcon on 2006 MMM DD whose minutes may be found at @@@ @@@@ SCHEDULE We propose a publication date of 2006 MMM DD. @@@ We propose that the PER period lasts from the date of publication until 31 June 2006. PROPOSED CR TITLE, ABSTRACT AND STATUS SECTIONS Abstract This document specifies a processing model and syntax for general purpose inclusion. Inclusion is accomplished by merging a number of XML information sets into a single composite infoset. Specification of the XML documents (infosets) to be merged and control over the merging process is expressed in XML-friendly syntax (elements, attributes, URI references). Status of this Document [[The text here is what I suggest should be the status, except I don't show links, but most of this test including the links should be inferable from the existing XInclude status and/or the status for the XML 1.0 4th Ed draft PER--pbg]] This section describes the status of this document at the time of its publication. Other documents may supersede this document. A list of current W3C publications and the latest revision of this technical report can be found in the W3C technical reports index at http://www.w3.org/TR/. This document has been produced by the W3C XML Core Working Group as part of the XML Activity. The English version of this specification is the only normative version. However, for translations of this document, see http://www.w3.org/2003/03/Translations/byTechnology?technology=xinclude1 0. This document is a Proposed Edited Recommendation of the W3C. This second edition is not a new version of XInclude. As a convenience to readers, it incorporates the changes dictated by the accumulated errata (available at http://www.w3.org/2004/12/xinclude-errata) to the First Edition of XInclude 1.0, dated 20 December 2004. W3C Advisory Committee Members are invited to send formal review comments to the W3C Team until dd MMMM 2006. Advisory Committee Representatives should consult their WBS questionnaires. The public is invited to send comments on this document to www-xml-xinclude-comments@w3.org; public archives are available. The errata list for this edition is available at http://www.w3.org/2004/12/xinclude-errata. Known implementations are documented in the XInclude Implementation Report. A Test Suite is maintained to help in assessing conformance to this specification. Publication as a Proposed Edited Recommendation does not imply endorsement by the W3C Membership. This is a draft document and may be updated, replaced or obsoleted by other documents at any time. It is inappropriate to cite this document as other than work in progress. This document was produced by a group operating under the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy. W3C maintains a public list of any patent disclosures made in connection with the deliverables of the group; that page also includes instructions for disclosing a patent. An individual who has actual knowledge of a patent which the individual believes contains Essential Claim(s) with respect to this specification should disclose the information in accordance with section 6 of the W3C Patent Policy.
