Presumably it's being served as Latin-1, despite the XML encoding declaration and HTML charset declaration. I have a handy UTF-8 tool at http://www.cogsci.ed.ac.uk/~richard/utf-8.html You can paste in UTF-8-displayed-as-Latin-1 to see what the character was meant to be. -- Richard
