John, When the XSL and XML Query WGs republish their drafts (expected this week), the XML Core WG will review how the the Data Model draft has been changed to address Core's comments. I suggested that it might also be useful if you could skim the XPath 2.0, XQuery 1.0, Data Model, and Functions and Operators documents to see if you agree with the way they purport to support XML 1.1.
