Thank you for your comment. As explained in the issues document (see description below) it was decided to set the type to error, which was not done for some reason, and it is still marked as not-wf. But, as Mike comment indicates this particular test does not contains an attribute value with a reference to an undeclared entity. Could someone from the working group take a closer look at this test? Also, could someone address the comment on having the issues document not open to the public? The issue with xmlconf/xmltest/not-wf/not-sa/005.xml was address in issue TS11 in the issues document: http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/2002/02/xml10-test-suite-issues#TS11 Sandra Issue TS11: Invalid documents that contain non-recoverable errors: There is a general assumption that when a processor parses documents that are invalid, but otherwise well-formed, it will only report recoverable errors. However, the following documents contain references to entities that have not been declared, a validity constraint failure, that are also not recoverable because the references occur in attribute values. For a test harness to distinguish this case, there needs to be such an indication in the test description. Until that mechanism is added, it would be best to set the type of these tests to "error" so that inappropriate conformance failures are not reported. xmlconf/ibm/invalid/P68/ibm68i01.xml xmlconf/ibm/invalid/P68/ibm68i02.xml xmlconf/ibm/invalid/P68/ibm68i03.xml xmlconf/ibm/invalid/P68/ibm68i04.xml xmlconf/ibm/invalid/P69/ibm69i01.xml xmlconf/ibm/invalid/P69/ibm69i02.xml xmlconf/ibm/invalid/P69/ibm69i03.xml xmlconf/ibm/invalid/P69/ibm69i04.xml xmlconf/ibm/not-wf/P69/ibm69n05.xml xmlconf/sun/invalid/dtd06.xml xmlconf/xmltest/not-wf/not-sa/005.xml Proposed resolution Set the type of these tests to "error".
