When we update the note, I think we should add the following guideline: A.28. Use of Named Entities DO NOT use named entities other than < > & and " - the entities defined by XML. DO use the numeric equivalents for other entities (e.g., use © rather than ©). Rationale: Many user agents treat XHTML Family markup languages as generic XML. As a result, they are unable to process the named entities that are defined by the markup language. Any objections? Comments? -- Shane P.
