All, I took the action item to send a list to the group of relevant sensor ontology work for the group's white paper. I have not fully refined the items in these lists yet, but it is fairly lengthy. I appreciate this doesn't hit the nail on the head, but I think it covers a large part of the space we're trying to collect information from. The first reference [1] is all the items tagged on the MMI site with the 'Sensors' keyword. This includes some things we don't care about, but the titles are usually self-explanatory enough to be helpful. Particularly note IEEE 1451 as an important reference model. The second reference [2] contains vocabularies that we've found that relate to sensors, particularly types of sensors, in the marine community. While some of these are simply lists of terms, many of them contain clues about the characteristics that were important. The third reference [3] contains a few of the most relevant ontologies. The fourth reference [4] shows some diagrams of ontologies that have proven relevant to our work. Not all of these are sensor ontologies exactly, and it's nice to have a couple of graphical references on one page.
