FYI, I've found Twitter absolutely necessary to keep up with the
events in Haiti [1]. People like this hotel owner basically have noted
that Twitter is one of the few ways to communicate, with normal phone
calls being shaky and internet not being great [2]. If people see
other uses of social media to help the heart-wrenching situation
there, I'd definitely be interested.
