Hello, Not sure how this might be useful to the Context TF (now or in the future) but offering as food for thought... Context #1: yesterday I attended the meeting of ITU-T SG 16 [1] rapporteurs. One of the sessions I sat in on was about a new Question (Q25) of possible relevance in the future. See [2]. [side note: Ubiquitous sensor networks topic is highly relevant to the Internet of Things and Mobile Augmented Reality, two areas of research on which I have considerable activities.] Relevance to the SWXG Context TF? One of Q25's responsibilities is to define how networked systems will process sensor data. While, in Social Networking, sensors are not the only source of contextual information, they are likely to be very important in mobile systems where there are many sensors (location, movement, compass, microphone to detect sound levels, camera, light meter). Perhaps there is exploratory work or a potential liaison between future W3C work on Context in Social Networks and the ITU SG 16 Q25. Context #2: I'm on the W3C Semantic Sensor Networks XG public mailing list [3]. Relevance to the SWXG Context TF? They are developing an ontology for sensor networks. If (where) there is a direct connection between sensors and a user's context, could there be some benefit in there being mutual monitoring between Context TF and Semantic Sensor Networks XG?
