Next steps for the XG

All:

The minutes of today's telecon are at:

	http://www.w3.org/2010/01/08-prov-xg-minutes.html

Three major items to highlight:

* Any further comments on the proposed organization of use cases
should be posted to the mailing list. It looks like we have nicely
converged on a small set of exemplar cases for each dimension. Thanks
to all who contributed to the (!!!!) 31 use cases, they cover very
broad issues in provenance and people outside the group are already
reading them. We need to move on and close the work on use cases
ASAP, so if you intend to contribute cases or comments please do so
promptly. Please try to work with the current structure and make any
changes be localized at this point. We will no longer discuss use
cases at the telecons.

* We are now officially starting the next activity of the XG, which is
to articulate requirements (see our XG timeline at http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/prov/wiki/Timeline
. This should be in the form of a self-contained document (ie, a wiki
page) with 2-3 editors, should be done by the end of January. Thanks
to Paul Groth, Paolo Missier, Satya Sahoo, and Jun Zhao for
volunteering to be editors of the document. They will have off-line
discussions to prepare a skeleton of the document, with names of
people that expected to contribute to each section. This will be
discussed at our next telecon. If you have suggestions please contact
them!

* Regarding the face to face meeting, it looks like there are no major
objections to holding it Sun-Mon April 25-26. I will move forward with
those dates then, and will let you all know when the arrangements are
final.

Talk to you all next week!
