Dear provenance incubator group, Following Ronald's mail on the W3C Social Web use cases, I give the use cases gathered in the PASOA and Provenance projects below (around 50 in total, though a few are 'non-functional' cases describing additional demands on provenance-related software). I will look at the approaches of the related W3C groups which Yolanda listed on the charter, and take these and Ronald's helpful feedback into account in suggesting a template. Any other sample use cases or suggestions on the template will be gratefully received. The use cases gathered as part of the PASOA project are described informally on the following site: http://twiki.pasoa.ecs.soton.ac.uk/bin/view/PASOA/UseCases with an overlapping set being specified a little more precisely in the following journal paper: http://www.springerlink.com/content/8257g3g11571n271/ The EU Provenance project had a set of longer application descriptions, including use cases, from the project itself and from interviews with other projects: http://www.gridprovenance.org/applications/ Thanks, Simon -- Dr Simon Miles Lecturer, Department of Computer Science Kings College London, WC2R 2LS, UK +44 (0)20 7848 1166
