prior to the call.
* Roadmap to the whitepaper draft — John/Glenda

Update Outcome of OWEA Summit/Retreat - John & Leslie
* John - OWEA Retreat was extraordinary. Confident that we
will achieve something fantastic. Great advantage to get
together face-to-face. Thanks Leslie and folks in Chatt!
* Leslie - Chatt was so happy to host us. Thrilled with
information learned and how well our message was heard by
the general public. Important in adoption of web standards.
People were impressed with the accessibility and
friendliness of the speakers
I've heard from lots of people from all walks of life who
said they understood what our goals are.
* Notes from OWEA Summit in Chattanooga posted at

Proposal of Org Type - Aaron G. & John
* reviewed advantages of being an org within W3C
* the option of joining W3C is enticing, especially if we have
the flexibility that WAI had
* would help with time-to-market
* options (for profit and non-profit) have challenges
* W3C Web Foundation could help us channel funds
* IP policy already established in W3C
More detailed notes are posted at
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/owea/wiki/Type_of_Organization
Mark - how do different org's fit? Does each org have an equal
stand/vote?
There will come a time when we disagree, and we need to decide
how to resolve it.
John - operational issue - on how we have equal voices/vote.
Mark started a wiki conversation for us at
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/owea/wiki/Organization_Structure
Membership proposal - Glenda
* Glenda - gave a overview of a membership model at
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/owea/wiki/Membership
* Leslie asked for a definition of the AIGA/WOW Chapter Model
* John asked about members/sponsorship who want to contribute
by giving $$$
* Steph - question to Doug - would asking for fees be at all
possible to w3c?
Doug - depends on the model - we have had something similar
with mobile vendors
Roadmap to the White Paper
* Goal of White Paper needs to be very clear - how OWEA is to
function
* Doug - W3C Woods meeting is end of September. Ff we could
have a preliminary white paper by end of September, that
would be very valuable to share with W3C management.
Core Meetings - more often
* Regular Meeting every two weeks
* We need to meet more often
* Let's meet weekly
* Meetings can alternate between broad vs focused every other
week
* Any of the current core team can come to any meeting (based
on agenda)
To Do
* Mark - make sure everyone involved has an equal voice.
determine how OWEA will make decisions = start a place for
this discussion
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/owea/track/actions/1
* Everyone - review Type of Org notes at
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/owea/wiki/Type_of_Organization
* Everyone - show us +1 0 1 at
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/owea/wiki/Talk:Type_of_Organization
* Steph coordinate meeting with John, Ben, Leslie, Glenda,
Steph & Mark to propose ideas about how to allow sponsorship
and/or membership fees
* Aaron - draft white paper in wiki (type of org) and add
outline for other parts of paper
* Doug - set up a widget to help us decide time of regular
weekly meetings
