Overview article/deliverable?

Greetings all,

something "big" was getting worked on for me and .. here i have my new
affiliation :-)

Among the benefit of the new employer is the ability to legally join
this XG as w3c member. At the moment however i'd like to give a sort of
external contribution with this idea:
what about an overall article which would be kind of an overview of the
activity performed so fare? SOmething that would summarize, collect and
interrelate the use cases for examples. There are possibly moltiple
reasons to to this.
For once i i am to give a lecture about "Multimedia Semantics and the
Semantic Web Initiatives: Status, Use Cases and Challenges;", so i have
to do it anyway.**:-) for 2 as most of you know there is a special
number of JoWS about multimedia whose deadline is coming soon (will
there be an extension?).an overview article might be possible still?
Then there is that book chapter i mentioned some time ago. while the
editor who contacted me first for a prelimiany study has not,
unfortunately, confirmed anything yet, it might be possible for the future.
So at this point i ask mainly to Jeff and Raphael, do you all feel
about such overview article, would it make possibly a good deliverable
for the XG itself (is there one such thing already?). Next step would be
asking for contributions around and permissions to copy paste from
what's written. The article would haveof course the name of anybody
who's contribution ends in the final work.

Giovanni
