Introduction: Michael Hausenblas (JOANNEUM RESEARCH)

Dear colleagues,

Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Michael Hausenblas, I'm from
Austria (JOANNEUM RESEARCH, participating in K-Space) 
and today it will actually be the first time I join the MMSEM XG
telecon.

I am a research fellow at JOANNEUM RESEARCH (JR), Institute of
Information Systems & Information Management - that I joined some 5
years ago -
focusing on Semantic Web, Ontology Engineering, this mainly in the
domain of multimedia content. I have been active since in several EU
projects
(PRESTO, SCALEX, MECiTV, etc.) and currently I'm responsible for the
scientific lead of the NM2 [1] project at JR. My background thus is in
the realm
of applied research focusing on (media) semantics. 

Regarding the contribution to the MMSEM XG, IMHO we at JR could best
bring in our experiences into the "Media Production Use Case" and/or the
"Low Level Feature Extraction Use Case" (to be discussed today, I guess
:).
